A dark angel leans toward a frightened figure, lantern glowing softly in the shadows. This haunting image transforms a traditional porcelain plate into a meditation on the moment when the veil between worlds grows thin.

This vintage decorative plate was exhibited in my recent installation In Memoriam, a collaboration with Veneration of Light exploring grief, mortality, and the strange intimacy of loss.

The plate’s intricate black and gold border creates a dramatic frame for the scene, giving the piece the feeling of a Victorian relic discovered in some forgotten cabinet of curiosities.
