Papel

Once upon a full year ago during a rather dismal November —I began this collection. A quartet of porcelain dissent, gilt and glazed, a protest whispered into a teacup.

“Hysterical.”
Red and gold, blood and wealth. The word they use when your voice grows too sharp, your truth too inconvenient.

“There’s fuckery afoot.”
The blue-and-silver herald. A cup for the moment you realize the house is on fire and everyone is arguing about who lit the match.

“Hell hath no fury.”
A crimson relic for every woman who’s been told to smile through her own undoing. A reminder that fury, when steeped long enough, becomes positively explosive.

“Madwoman.”
For those of us labeled odd, weird, or other for simply existing. Drink deep, my dear—it’s the taste of clarity, not madness.

Each piece in the America the Beautiful collection is a product of my frustration and is fully sharp when shattered.

A portion of proceeds will be donated to local food banks in Los Angeles, because while we wait and wait and wait for someone to be held accountable, everyone still needs to eat.
